Autumn tapestry

Laid out kerbside, like an exotic tapestry- one can only imagine the weavers and the passionate artisans who aspire to make such glowing colours. Soon I will be delivering a talk to schoolchildren about how colours are made.  I recall reading that it takes twenty months to grow madder and then a thirty step process including fermentation and chemical treatment to extract such beautiful red dye.
